  1. FLEMINGS RIGHT HAND RULE Statement • Stretch out the fore finger, middle finger and thumb of your right hand, so that they are at right angles to one another. If the forefinger points in the direction of magnetic field, Thumb in the direction of motion of the Conductor and middle finger in the direction of Induced emf EE-303.2

  2. FLEMINGS RIGHT HAND RULE Thumb points motion Forefinger points field Middle finger points Induced Emf EE-303.2

  3. Fig.2 Application of Flemings right hand rule EE-303.2

  4. Application of Flemings right hand rule Consider a conductor AB moving upwards at right angles to a uniform magnetic field as shown in Fig.2 By Flemings right hand rule the direction of induced current is from B to A. If the motion of the conductor is downwards, the direction of induced current is from A to B. Fig.2 EE-303.2

  5. QUIZ EE-303.2

  6. 1. In Flemings right hand rule Fore finger represents a) direction of magnetic field. b) direction of current. c) direction of motion. EE-303.2

  7. 2. Flemings right hand rule is suitable to find the direction of a) Magnetic field b) Induced power c) Induced emf EE-303.2

  8. 3. In Flemings right hand rule thumb represents a) direction of motion. b) direction of magnetic field. c) direction of current. EE-303.2
