  2. Fastt Math The goal of the program is to help students recall basic facts quickly and accurately. This will give your child a solid foundation for more complex mathematical skills and concepts.

  3. Placement assessment – 30 minutes Determine baseline fluency 2 parts – typing and facts assessment Lesson – 15 mins Minimum of 3x per week Fastt Math

  4. FASTT Math The placement assessment determines which facts are “Fast Facts” (the ones which your child can respond to correctly in less than a second) and which are “Study Facts” (ones he or she responds to slowly, or incorrectly).

  5. Over time, the program will provide instruction and practice to help your child systematically learn all the facts in the Fact Grid. It will provide students with extra practice on small groups of facts (Focus Facts) to help students develop the ability to recall those facts quickly from memory.

  6. Fastt Math Login • Novell username and password • Not case sensitive • Available from your child’s teacher

  7. Fact grid displays all facts • Fast facts answered in 0.8 seconds or less (gold) • Focus facts – currently working on (highlighted blue) • Study facts – non-fluent facts (blue)

  8. Typical lesson • Should take approximately 15 minutes • Should be completed minimum of 3 x per week • Must complete all components to get credit

  9. Facts for the day • Fact presentation 45÷5=9 • Model screen array

  10. Typing • Fact typing screen ___÷___=___

  11. Fact Input 2x12 =___ 70 problems

  12. Score Score given with target (scores screen)

  13. Games Games – emphasis on recently learned facts to improve speed

  14. Exit Dialogue Box Will say you are done for the day (all components completed) or You have not finished your lesson are you sure you want to quit?

  15. FAST Math Please encourage your child to practice basic facts at home each day. Spending only 10-15 minutes a day can make a huge difference for your child. Fast Math is a great tool for fact practice that is available both at home and school.
