  1. Digital Citizenship Digital Access and Divide Presentation directed at youth

  2. Introduction • Digital citizenship is very important to the youth especially to the times we live in most of our lives are connected to digital society. Whether be at school, work, social and personal. Knowing how to log into a computer, typing, searching the web are mainly the core things to start with when learning about the Internet. I will briefly explain in my PowerPoint presentation, the following five fluencies. Just to name them; Solution fluency, Information fluency, Media fluency, Collaboration fluency and lastly the Creativity fluency.

  3. Solution Fluency • It is about having the skill to solve or resolute problems, to have this skill you need to be able to apply your mind and be analystic. You also require patience, confidence, believe in yourself because it all starts in the mind, if you believe you can do it, you have already overcome the obstacle.

  4. Information Fluency • It is the ability to translate information from the back of your mind, without having to think hard about it or refer to any books. Anyone can attain this skill only if they are not lazy to read books, articles etc. Most of the young people lack this skill as most of us rely on google for answers. I urge you young people to go back to old school reading as it also stimulates your mind, activates creativity as well

  5. Media Fluency • This fluency can be explained as having an articulate mind, be able to think outside the box. Being able to identify the hot so obvious. Not everyone has this skill as it requires passion for the art.But I would like to encourage you that if you feel you have the love, passion for media, pursue it and not to allow anyone to bring you down by telling you that you will not make it.

  6. Collaboration Fluency • Collaboration fluency is basically having the skill to be able to work with others. This requires a lot of patience as every person is unique in their own character. What is nice about collaboration in this digital world is that people are able to work together in projects without having to meet face to face. We see this a lot in the music industry. A lot of musicians have testified about working on a hit song with someone they have never met before. Technology makes things easy and all possible.

  7. Creativity Fluency • This fluency really explains itself, it is being different. People look at creatives in that way, they see them as weird as they do things completely different from the rest of the corporate world.Mostof the time you do not see these people wearing suites, working from an office. They enjoy the outdoors as it makes their creative juices flow. Even the way they dress is very different from other people. You can just tell by looking at them.

  8. Conclusion • As young people we need to believe in ourselves first, do not really mind other people's opinion of you. I mean this in a very respectful way. Have the ability to assist one another, have patience and tolerance. If you start something, finish it.Do not wait for things to be brought to you on a silver spoon, look for opportunities. Be visible get out there. Stay positive and read, read, read.
