  8. Transfer Information • Some programs transfer better than others. Other programs are designed to gain entry level employment in that field. • Grade Point Average (G.P.A.) is the most important factor in transferring - “It is better for you to do well than to do it fast.” • MCC has general education transfer sheets for Central CT State University, Eastern CT State University, and the University of CT. • In addition, an admission compact agreement exists between MCC and ECSU and MCC and UConn’s School of Liberal Arts. Applications are available in the Admissions Office.

SPECIAL PROGRAM OPPORTUNITIES AIT Adults In Transition AIT provides support to adult students who are returning to college after a long absence (6+ years), and whom may be seeking a career change STRONG-CT Science and Technology Reaching Out to New Generations in Connecticut STRONG-CT is designed to promote life sciences as an educational and career option for first generation African American and Latino students. This program also enables transfer to UCONN upon successful completion. ******* Brochures available for each program *******

Future Advising • After the completion of your first semester, meeting with an advisor is recommended but may not be required. • Full-time students in the General Studies program will be assigned a faculty advisor and will have to meet with their advisor to register for their future courses. You will be notified with your advisor information. • Completing your Advising Profile Sheet will ensure you are assigned an advisor! • Faculty advisors will be available each semester during Advising Weeks to meet students. Be sure to meet with your program coordinator or a faculty member in the department of your major/program.

  11. Additional Information • Make sure you attend New Student Orientation on Thursday, January 24, 2008. • Sign up for tutoring assistance if you need it (College Learning Center, L120). Tutoring is free and it is here to help you succeed! • Books can be purchased from the MCC Bookstore. Students should bring their course schedule to the bookstore to determine the required books. You can also view required books on the MCC Bookstore Webpage and purchase them elsewhere. • If you have Tech Prep, HS Partnership, or other college credits, please let us know! Be sure you have submitted all required documents to the Admission’s Office – HS diploma, immunization form, etc.

  14. Course Selection Process • Determine your program of study and locate it in the MCC Course Catalog or use your Program Sheet. This is your MCC Map. • Are you attending full time? 12 Semester Hours (Usually 4 Courses x 3 Semester Hours) • The courses you are able to take your first semester are determined by your placement test scores (see blue sheet).

  19. How Much Will It Cost? • Full time $1414 Fees $166 (Plus lab or studio fees) Tuition $1248 (page 11 of Class Schedule)

  20. How Much Will It Cost (con’t)? • Students must pay their tuition and fees at the time of registration! (Fees are non-refundable) • If you can not pay, YOU SHOULD NOT REGISTER TODAY! Full time, CT Residents - $1,414 ( PLUS studio/lab fees, if any) • Financial Aid Students that have been approved for financial aid ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING THEIR STUDENT FEES ($166 full time) at the time of registration. Financial aid will pay for books in advance. • MCC Payment Plan ($25 plan fee) Students must take a minimum of eight (8) semester hours. Full Time Payment Plan Tuition is in 3 payments: Due when registering 1/3 of tuition (+ lab or studio fees + $25.) Feb 12 1/3 of tuition Mar 12 1/3 of tuition
