Literacy – linked to ‘The Dragon-Slayer’ Instruction Texts: Identify Key Features of instruction texts – look at video clip and analyse Produce text map for ‘How to trap a dragon’ – orally re-tell Shared write instructions for ‘How to feed a dragon’ Independently write instructions for ‘How to bath a dragon’ Report-writing: Identify Key Features – read assorted newspaper reports and analyse Produce text map for report about a fire Shared write newspaper report about the fire Independently write a newspaper report about a fire caused by a dragon Numeracy To subtract 2 digit numbers using counting on to find the difference. To use column subtraction to subtract two 2 digit numbers. Apply methods of addition of 2 digit numbers to solve word problems. Recognise right angles and angles that are smaller or greater than a right angle. Recognise fractions of shapes. Recognise unit fractions and find fractions of number. Solve simple algebra in order to calculate missing numbers ICT Use animation to create and retell part of a story. PE Gymnastics- practice and create different balances and rolls, thinking about body positioning and shape. To develop sequences of movement on both floor and apparatus.
