Interactive Dice Game for Learning Sports Rules with Must/Must Not

Engage students in a fun and educational team-based dice game focused on sports rules. Divide the class into teams that take turns rolling a dice. Each number corresponds to a specific sport, prompting the team to find a rule expressing it using "must" or "must not." Correct completions score a point, and the sentence is crossed out to prevent reuse. The game continues until no rules are left for a rolled sport, resulting in a missed turn. The team with the most points wins, making learning enjoyable and competitive!

  1. Instructions: • Divide the class into teams. • Each team, in turns, throws the dice and the number on the dice corresponds to one of the sports on the slide. • The team has to find one of the sentences that expresses a rule for the sport selected on the dice, and complete the rule with must / must not. • If the sentence is correct, teacher counts one point for the team and cross out that sentence from the chart. (you may need to insert symbols or numbers for each correct sentence so that you can count the teams’ points in the end – for example, whenever team 1 makes a correct guess, I draw a star next to the sentence they chose. That way, that sentence cannot be chosen anymore and I know it’s a point for team 1.) • The game will get to a point when students roll the dice and there are no more correponding rules for the sport selected. Thus, they miss the turn. • The team with more points (correct sentences) wins the game.
