Characteristics The Narwhal has a blotchy grey complection with less grey on the sides and a very white belly.Narwhals have two teeth in the upper jaw and a long tusk on the left side of their mouth.Their tusk can grow in the range of 7-10 feet long.The tusk is twisted in a counter clock wise direction.His /her tusk is hollow and it is not used in hunting.

  3. Habitat Narwhals live in the Arctic between Canada and Greenland.The Narwhal is not easily found 70 degree North.Narwhals never swim far from the ice.The Narwhal is one of the rarest animals in the ocean.

  4. Food Narwhals eat lots of fish and squid .Narwhals must use a suction to suck up his/her food.His/her long neck can scan an area to get more mobile pray.

  5. Enemies The Narwhals biggest enemy is man.The Narwhal Also gets prayed upon by Polar Bears and Walruses.They also get prayed upon by Orcas and certain sharks.

  6. Babies Females can give birth at 5years.Males can mate at 8 years.Narwhal babies drink for up too 2 years.

  7. Inuit Uses Harpoon Inuit people hunt the Narwhal For It’s Tusk,flesh,and other edible parts. It’s skin is eaten raw.some of the meat is fed to the sled dogs.Inuit use the blubber for heating and lighting.Narwhals are still harpooned from kayak but most Inuit use high speed boats.Narwhals are hunted for their skin, oil, meat, and tusks.

  8. Interesting Facts The Narwhal is unlike any other cetacean.The male has a long tusk that females don’t have.Males fight for the females.There are scars on the males head from the tusk.The narwhal is an endangered species.
