  2. Recruitment outsourcing experts have seen and pointed out the immense skill gap that currently exists across most industries. One of the root causes of this existing gap is the unstable and unsystematic education process in the country. A fragile learning structure leads to inconsistency between the things that are being taught to students (and the way they are taught) and the actual expectations they face when searching for corporate IT jobs. This results in many candidates, who have the temperament and potential to successfully pursue an IT career, having to lag behind because of improper practical knowledge and training. Keeping this particular issue in mind, HCL has launched a new training and staffing division, currently operating in two places namely HCL Lucknow and HCL Madurai. The objective of these centres is to provide guaranteed jobs to keen candidates through an exclusive program called Training and Staffing Program. This specially designed initiative in Madurai and Lucknow aims to bridge the gap between corporate vacancies and talented, unemployed youth by providing them with the required expertise and skill training. In short, the program acts as a career launch pad for the freshers and graduates by providing them with assured entry level IT jobs and making them corporate-ready with respect to technical and soft skills. Since HCL is an enormous multi-national company, it continuously feels the need for in-hand talent and skills that suit vacant designations in the competitive IT world. Using this one-of-a-kind training program, HCL is striving to develop and maintain an in-house pool of skilled and expert resources. The program provides the requisite training to develop and hone the technical and professional skills of the trainees. Eligibility Criteria for the Program As aforementioned, the Training and Hiring Program recruits graduates and freshers and trains them for a duration of 6 months. After successfully completing the six months, the candidates are provided with assured jobs and are likely to be absorbed into HCL’s professional workforce. Finished Graduation in B.E / B.Tech (IT or Non IT) / MCA / M.E / M.Tech Between 0-1 year experience in IT (or non-IT) Taken a break from an IT career (this is only for women) Obtained 55% marks in college Local resident of Lucknow or Madurai The whole selection process consists of three levels namely Counselling, an Online Test which could either be an aptitude test or a technical one and finally an interview that determines the selection. The program provides training in specializations and technical tracks like Windows Specialization, Networking Specialization, Linux Specialization, Solaris Specialization, Software Testing, Application Support and Maintenance among others.
