  1. Hello everybody, I am trying to generate a mail whenever any interface on any router is operatively down. By operatively down I mean when the line protocol is down & not the serial interface. The OID for ifoperstatus is 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.8. Now this OID can be made to monitor a specific interface by adding its serial number at the end of the OID. I want that whenever an interface on a router is called for polling the ifinoctets & ifoutoctets it must also poll the ifoperstatus. The value returned by ifoperstatus would tell me if the interface is up, down or in testing mode. Can anybody tell me how do I do this. Which file (like mrtg, snmp_util or snmp_session) needs to be changed to do this action. I apologise in advance if this is given in the documentation. I will be highly obliged if somebody could please help me. Regards Tarik -- Hello everybody, I am trying to generate a mail whenever any interface on any router is operatively down.
