  1. Metronome Overview January 12, 2014

  2. In every industry but one, technology makes things better and cheaper.

  3. Fundamentally, we have a system that no amount of data helps Insurance only wants to cut my benefits. Everyone is out to increase our costs. “Personalized medicine” is a radically different business model. I’m afraid and overwhelmed. Independent thought can’t be monitored. Every day, my ability to deliver good care is compromised by change. I have no way of knowing whether a patient is compliant or a caregiver is competent. We all live in a world where more expectations and fewer resources are the rule. It’s in everyone’s best interest to be affordably accountable to each other, but without a mechanism to trust each other, they don’t.

  4. Tech should help – we have a lot of innovation Each produces more and more data over time as the cost to produce it drops. The data could reveal what happens when a patient is away from a caregiver, what’s working and what isn’t, and when an early intervention could save time, money or most importantly, lives.

  5. But because there’s nothing to align the data with outcomes, there’s nothing in it but risk. 110111010010001111101110100100011100111110111010010001111101110111010010001111101011011101001001101101001 110111010010001111101110100100011100111110111010010001111101110111010010001111101011011101001001101101001 110111010010001111101110100100011100111110111010010001111101110111010010001111101011011101001001101101001 110111010010001111101110100100011100111110111010010001111101110111010010001111101011011101001001101101001 110111010010001111101110100100011100111110111010010001111101110111010010001111101011011101001001101101001 110111010010001111101110100100011100111110111010010001111101110111010010001111101011011101001001101101001 110111010010001111101110100100011100111110111010010001111101110111010010001111101011011101001001101101001 Data ends up just producing confusion and noise, driving us further apart.

  6. We need trust to bring the stakeholders together 1 sided data transactions have to become two-sided to get cooperation. Only by increasing trust and accountability between all stakeholders can risk be reduced to bring health costs and outcomes back together

  7. Metronome Builds Ecosystems: Trust and Economic Value Personal Data Exchange Data collection, authentication and UI Three components that provide a personal, private, secure data exchange engine for each consumer – to the benefit of all the other stakeholders.

  8. Continuous data collection Caregiver/insurer/payer sensor networks/services Personal Data Exchange Data collection, authentication and UI 3rd party sensors Device sensors Location aware apps/services Device and other sensors can offer data that the user can accept or reject via Metronome rules.

  9. That other stakeholders can issue queries on. Is the patient taking their medication as prescribed? Is the patient getting the expected results from a caregiver’s intervention? Personal Data Exchange Can we have access to user’s raw data? Does a caregiver get better results than her peers? Payers and providers can ask questions that help them deliver better care and lower risk.

  10. Only receiving an answer when the user agrees to provide it. Is the patient taking their medication as prescribed? ✔ Is the patient getting the expected results from a caregiver’s intervention? Personal Data Exchange ✔ Can we have access to user’s raw data? ✖ Does a caregiver get better results than her peers? ✔ Via Metronome rules and simple language agreements, providers, payers, insurers and others can get authenticated answers to their questions via encrypted communication, providing the request benefits the user.

  11. Feeding population dataset(s) CDC is looking for anonymous self-reporting of flu symptoms in this area Personal Data Exchange Data collection, authentication and UI Vetted researcher is looking for anonymized diabetes/lifestyle correlations. While vetted and audited researchers have access to customizable population-wide data.

  12. Metronome will prove its humble value on a highly visible stage. We aren’t going to fix healthcare all at once, but via the Qualcomm Tricorder X PRIZE’s incentives and structure, we can provide a trusted data interchange to the best, brightest, up-and-coming talent in digital health and health transformation very efficiently.

  13. First, we start serving customers – using the QTXP to narrow the field and feature set ? ? ? ? ? ? Qualcomm Tricorder X PRIZE Team ? ? Qualcomm Tricorder X PRIZE Team ? ? ? Our first step is to use crowdfunding to build a broad coalition of stakeholders and get a “minimally viable product” into the hands of potential users, entrepreneurs, caregivers, insurers and influencers. Why will they do this? Because they want first access to the tools, insights and benefits of a system like Metronome, and we’ll give it to them for free while letting them guide it’s future. Qualcomm Tricorder X PRIZE Team

  14. We rapidly iterate, each product cycle being better, plus having it in the hands Qualcomm Tricorder X PRIZE Team Qualcomm Tricorder X PRIZE Team • Next, we’ll be able to use our crowdfunding backers, the Qualcomm Tricorder X PRIZE teams, and advocacy and industry groups as our customers – using lean and agile product development to rapidly evolve and integrate the support of their products, services and perspectives. Meanwhile, we’ll raise additional development resources from people that can start to see that we aren’t a competitor but we are taking problems off their plate while giving them new capabilities. 15. Phase 3 – broader in-market iterations starting in 2015 Qualcomm Tricorder X PRIZE Team Qualcomm Tricorder X PRIZE Team Qualcomm Tricorder X PRIZE Team Finally, all the code, IP and insights created and gathered will be turned over to a governing independent non-profit. This non-profit will producize it, manage testing it, release it and maintain it under a simple and low cost open source license. It will let all the other stakeholders focus on what they do best, by making trust non-threatening.

  16. A platform for ecosystem innovation and risk reduction Validated personalized therapies Sensors and other hardware Personal Data Exchange Niche providers and insurers Data collection, authentication and UI Behavior based incentives Coaching, maintenance and other apps Metronome solves the data exchange problem for everyone equally. It enables stakeholders to develop collaborations and innovations while maintaining the flexibility to change them without changing technology.

  17. We and our caregivers, regulators and insurers are already producing the data that can make health better, less risky and lower cost. Metronome will help us and the marketplace, researchersand advocates that support us come together to get it done.

  18. Metronome. The least technology to synch the most players. Now you know: What’s ailing healthcare, and why it’s so hard to fix What we intend to do about it Why it matters to you, and what you can do about it

  19.
