  2. Coming on May 1 Starting May 1, OTS employees in Scranton will have their health and welfare benefits administered by the General Dynamics Service Center. The General Dynamics Service Center currently provides similar services for other General Dynamics employees, including other OTS employees.

  3. Benefits Help Here are the benefits for which the General Dynamics Service Center will provide assistance: • Medical benefits • Dental benefits • Vision benefits • Insurance benefits (like life insurance)

Benefits Help And here are just a few of the things for which you will be able to use the General Dynamics Service Center: • Review your benefit choices • Review the provisions of your benefit plans • Get answers to your questions • Designate beneficiaries • Make changes when you have a “life event” (e.g., you get married) • Enroll in benefits during the fall annual enrollment

Transferring Your Information On May 1, all of your health and welfare benefits information will transfer to the General Dynamics Service Center EXCEPT: • The beneficiaries for your insurance coverages • You will need to call or go online to designate your beneficiaries for these coverages. • Do so on May 1!!!

  7. Reaching the General Dynamics Service Center • There will be two ways for you to reach the General Dynamics Service Center: * You can even reach the General Dynamics Service Center if you’re out of the country. Just dial the out-of-country access number followed by 1-847-883-1138.

  8. Getting Started • On May 1, you should do the following: • Go to www.gdbenefits.com or call the General Dynamics Service Center at 1-888-GD-BENEFITS (1-888-432-3633). • Take a tour of www.gdbenefits.com. You’ll start by creating a password you can use. • Designate a beneficiary (or beneficiaries) for your insurance coverages.

  9. VERY IMPORTANT! If you don’t designate a beneficiary (or beneficiaries) for your insurance and something happens to you, your benefits might not be paid as you would like them to be paid. DO THIS ON MAY 1 !!!

  10. Your First Visit Online The next few slides will walk you through your first online visit to the General Dynamics Service Center. Remember: help is available if you run into problems or have questions.

  11. Your First Visit Online Go to www.gdbenefits.com. This is what you’ll see: Enter your Social Security number and click on “Continue.”

  12. Your First Visit Online Next, you’ll see a screen like the one below: Click on “Register as New User” and follow the instructions to create a new password.

  13. Your First Visit Online You’ll be taken to a page like this one. Note that you can select various benefits in the bar on the left. Your different benefits can be found here. Click on a link to learn more.

  14. Your First Visit Online Here’s a sample of what the screen might look like when you visit “Health Insurance.” Notice the links to your health plans like Blue Cross and the Vision Service Plan. Make sure you click on “Beneficiaries” to add your beneficiary designations!

  15. Need Help? • If you need help while you’re online, call the General Dynamics Service Center at 1-888-GD-BENEFITS (1-888-432-3633). • Representatives are available from 9 a.m - 9 p.m. Eastern Monday - Friday.
