  3. Study Hall • New this year! • Last 20 minutes of each day • All 4th and 5th grade classes • Chance to begin homework in class • Aid of teacher • Encouraging every child to succeed

  4. Homework • Monday through Thursday • Math, Spelling, and Reading • Other assignments as needed • Homework planners and folders sent home each day • Grading

  5. The District's report card committee is currently finalizing the grading scale that will be used in the future. The grading scale will be determined well before the end of the first quarter and you will receive communication home explaining the grading scale. Please make sure you have signed up to receive school information electronically by registering on the Painted Sky Web Page. Grading Policies

Fourth Grade Curriculum • Sitton Spelling/ Everyday Spelling, • Everyday Math – Math Journals** • Science- Hands on experiments • Six Traits of Writing and Grammar • Monthly Writing Projects and Language Units • Reader’s Workshop • Book projects, Comprehension • Arizona History Curriculum based entirely on the Arizona State Standards

  7. Good Behavior • Table points- Class Goal • “Caught-Ya”-Drawing • Verbal praise • Positive notes/calls home • Smiley Charts

  8. Questionable Behavior • Stop and Think • Step 1-Warning • Step 2-Warning • Step 3-Fill out a “Stop and Think sheet” • Step 4-Sent out of classroom (office), phone call home • During Study Hall - Miss 10 minutes of Recess

  9. Special Events • Gingerbread Houses • Fourth Grade Musical • Kartchner Caverns • Guest Speakers • Birthdays • Appropriate treats • No peanut treats allowed

  10. Scholastic Book Orders • Online ordering this year • Website and password sent home with first catalog and on website. • Bonus points benefit your child!!

  11. Miler’s Club • Get fit! • Tuesday and Thursday mornings • Parents can walk for our class! • Track team • We’re going to win this year!

  13. Volunteering • The Schedule has been made, please let me know if you would like to be added to it. • Will begin in September. Before then- see me about help with leveling our classroom library. • Office staff and specialists need volunteers too! • By helping them, you are helping your child
