  6. Vibraphone • The vibes are unique because they have a sustain pedal much like the piano. • It is also used in jazz music. PEDAL

  7. Chimes (Tubular Bells) • Instead of bars, the chimes consist of tuned metal tubes • They are struck at the top, with a mallet that looks like a hammer. • They have a pedal which controls the sustain. • The Chimes have a complex series of overtones, and are often used to imitate the sound of church bells

  8. Crotales (Antique Cymbals) • Small, tuned brass disks • Low octave Range: Middle C to Third space C • High Octave: Third space C to C above staff
