  5. What is the HPL? Leadership is a process Toastmasters program focused on leadership Intensive learning process Collaborative Lead a project of your choosing

  6. Who should complete an HPL? Everyone … Particularly TMs looking for an intensive leadership growth experience … Particularly TMs who are already working on a major project … Particularly TMs who have a project in mind they would like to accomplish … Particularly TMs seeking to earn a DTM What is your purpose for completing your HPL?

  7. When can you do an HPL? Any time! … but it is recommended being at least CC/CL

  8. What do I need to do an HPL? Buy the module Recruit 3 or more experienced TMs to serve on your guidance committee

  9. What's the process? Five part manual Each part follows Toastmasters proven methodology: Study Action Feedback

  10. Preparation Read through the manual at least once Choose your guidance committee Think about potential projects but don't commit

Part 2: Choosing Your Objective Document your vision Write down a brief vision for your selected project (5 minutes) Develop your mission statement Define your values Prepare your first presentation to your club ("Sharing your Vision") Second guidance committee meeting Present to your club (evaluated)

Part 3 Winning Commitment to Your Objective Create your action strategy (how to accomplish your mission) Define the people you need for your action team Recruit your action team (sharing your vision) Create your action plan (tasks, timetable, resources, goals) List the resources and people required Third guidance committee meeting

  16. Part 4 Working the Plan Stage by stage Periodic progress review with project members Focus on outcomes; work within mission and values Exercise leadership: delegation, motivation, communication, mentoring, appreciation
