Time to get your testing face on! Prepare for the upcoming benchmark tests with important schedule dates, test guidelines, and what to bring on test days. Remember, attendance is crucial as benchmarks will count as test grades. Follow instructions, leave personal items at the front, and make sure to be well-rested. Time to get your testing face on!! It’s Benchmark Testing Time!!
Testing Schedule: • Dates • February 11 Math 6/7 and Social Studies 8 • February 12 Reading 6/7 and Science 8 *Rosters will be posted at the end of hallways and in waiting areas – find your testing room and report there on test days. Check your rosters each day as testing rooms may change!
Testing Information: • Tests have a 4 hour time limit • Start time will be around 9 am • End around 1:00 • We will break for lunch • Use your time wisely & do your best • Attendance is important • If you miss, you will have to make it up • Benchmark will count as a test grade for each of the subjects • Tutorial groups will be created based on results - So take it seriously!
Day of testing • You will be asked to leave all personal items at the front of the room – cell phones will be turned in to the teacher and returned after testing. Get plenty of rest the night before You need to be at your best. • Eat a good breakfast • It may be a while before your lunch
What to bring: • Bring a library book to read after you’re done • No magazines, newspapers, etc. • Only a library book • No textbooks or drawing paper • If you choose to be disruptive during Testing (even if you are finished) then you Will be removed and sent to the discipline center. • Bring some bottled water if you want and a snack that is not cheesy or messy • No flavor packets • Bring your favorite #2 pencil – pencils will also be provided
Examples of Snacks that meet guidelines • Cereal bar • Protein bar • Pretzels • Animal crackers • Crackers • Wheat thins • Dry cereal Bring your snack in a Ziploc baggie or open them prior to starting the test to avoid distracting noise.
Cell Phones & Other devices • Must be turned off and turned in to your teacher. Show your teacher that the device is turned completely off • No texting • No power at all • No vibration mode, silent mode, etc. • Any device that makes noise will result in disciplinary action
Cell Phones & Other devices • These items will be collected by the teacher • Items will be returned once all testing is completely finished • An announcement will be made to return all items
Lunch Procedures • Lunch procedures will be announced – benchmarks will break for lunch, your lunch may occur at a different time than you are used to.
