  4. Steps to Success in AVID Step 1: A desire to succeed and go to college Step2: Enrollment in the most difficult classes available Step 3: Organized Binder Step 4: Quality Cornell Notes Step 5: Higher-Level Thinking Step 6: Participation in Tutorials Step 7: College Awareness

  5. Binder • Notes will be taken in each class, everyday • Assignment Logs and Homework calendars will be completed each day with daily class work and homework assignments recorded for all classes • Minimum supplies will be present each day the student is. • Binders will be checked weekly

  6. Cornell Notes • Students are required to take Cornell Notes - a specific, research-based method of note taking – in each class on a weekly basis. • Cornell Note-taking is a cornerstone to success in the AVID program.
