  3. Thomas Edison as a boy Thomas Edison as a boy Thomas Edison as a boy About Thomas Alva Edison He was born in February 11,1847in Milan Ohio USA. He was the youngest of 7 children. He read many books. He liked mechanics and science . At 14 he caught scarlet fever. The fever made him deaf in the left ear and nearly deaf in the right ear. His first invention was age 16 .

  4. At age 29 , Edison began work on the carbon transmitter , which made Alexander Graham Bell’s new telephone audible for practical use. In 1877 he invented the first phonograph. First recording Mary had a little lamb Photograph of Edison with his phonograph, taken by Mathew Brady in 1877

  5. In 1879 he made a reliable, long lasting light bulb. Thomas Edison's first successful light bulb model, used in public demonstration at Menlo Park, December 1879

  6. He invented many useful things that made peoples lives better. Went he died October 18, 1937 people turned off lights all around the world. He invented 1,093 things before he died when he was 84 years old. He was the best inventor in the world.
