  1. Apollo Space Program

  2. What was the Apollo Program? The Apollo Program was a set task by President John F. Kennedy at 1961 for America to be the first country to have anyone on the moon for the first time and bring them back safely because the announcement was at the time of the Space Race and the Russians (at the time known as the USSR) were beating them so they began The Apollo Program .

  3. What year did man walk on the Moon? In the year 1969 on the 16th of July Apollo 11 blasted of into space with Neil Armstrong , Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin and Michael Collins . Their mission was to land on the Moon and then come back to Earth safely . The First Person on the moon was Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. Michael Collins didn’t walk on the moon because he was in the main ship because only two people could go on the moon at a time .

  4. How Many People have Walked on the Moon? Twelve people have walked on the moon . The days and mission that they went on are: Neil Armstrong - Apollo 11 - July, 1969 Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin - Apollo 11 - July, 1969 Alan Shepard - Apollo 14 - February, 1971 Charles "Pete" Conrad - Apollo 12 - November, 1969 Alan Bean - Apollo 12 - November, 1969 Edgar Mitchell - Apollo 14 - February, 1971 David Scott - Apollo 15 - July, 1971 James Irwin - Apollo 15 - July, 1971 John Young - Apollo 16 - April, 1972 Charles Duke - Apollo 16 - April, 1972 Eugene Cernan - Apollo 17 - December, 1972 Harrison Schmitt - Apollo 17 - December, 1972

  5. What is the Saturn V Rocket? Saturn V was the name of the rocket type used by NASA in the Apollo program. The Saturn V rocket is pronounced as Saturn 5 rocket. The Saturn V rocket is only able to be used once so that mean that they were only allowed to use them for one mission only . When the Saturn V rocket blasts off the bottom bit falls off and when you go into orbit more pieces fall off and then the front piece grabs the piece behind it and that piece is the Lunar Module and the main ship looks for the spot to land the Lunar Module.

  6. “Houston we Have a Problem” Apollo 13 was another mission to go to the moon . It was supposed to another place on the moon but on a different side of the moon that Edwin ”Buzz” Aldrin and Neil Armstrong . The three people that were on Apollo 13 were James A. Lovell, Ken Mattingly and Fred W. Haise . But unfortunately the were told by Huston to turn on the fan for the oxygen tank and then a spark appeared inside the oxygen tank and the oxygen tank exploded and they said “Houston we have a Problem “ . They had to go to the Lunar module except they had a problem the Lunar Module is only for 2 people and they don’t have enough oxygen so they put the oxygen tank from the main ship into the Lunar Module except the one in the Lunar Module was square so they told the people at Houston and the people shut the clever scientist and gave them box of what they had up in space and used the equipment to try and make the circle one fit the square and it took about 18 hour and the they figured it out and Apollo 13 came back to Earth.

  7. How is Australia Involved in the Apollo Program At Honeysuckle Creek there is a big satellite and in Apollo 11 they used the big satellite in Australia because they went to the wrong spot that they were supposed to land at and the satellite at USA could not connect with the lunar module but Australia was at the right spot so they contacted Australia and told them to turn the Honey Suckle creek satellite on to contact them .
