  5. IDF Activity On the morning of Wednesday, February 27th, IDF aerial forces attacked two vehicles west of Han Yunis after identifying the occupants as Hamas activists involved in rocket launching. Later on, a Qassam rocket launching cell was identified and attacked by IDF forces. On Wednesday night, the IDF targeted a number of Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, including the terrorist organization’s headquarters and other sites used for manufacturing and storing weapons and Qassam rockets. Hits were positively identified on all targets.

  6. Tunnels Discovered in Southern Gaza Five tunnels were uncovered by IDF forces during a routine operation in southern Gaza Strip on Sunday, February 24th, which targeted the extensive terrorist infrastructure in the region. The tunnels were discovered in Dahaniya airfield by soldiers from the Givati Brigade, the Engineering Corps forces and Armored Forces from the Eshet Battalion.

  7. Tunnels Discovered in Southern Gaza Two of the tunnels were subsequently demolished by the IDF forces operating in the region. In addition, during the course of the operation, some 40 terrorist suspects were apprehended and taken for further investigation. IDF forces encountered a number of attacks during the operation but suffered no injuries or casualties.

  8. Comments The increased range, quantity and accuracy of rockets fired from Gaza display the significant steps taken by the Hamas to strengthen its violent capabilities. Similar to any country in the world, Israel is committed to protect its civilians from foreign hostilities. The IDF will not hesitate to facilitate the protection of Israel and its residents. Hamas’s cynical use of Palestinian civilians and its incessant hostilities towards Israel reflect a conscious decision to perpetuate a state of violence.
