  25. Conclusion Comparisons with MIPAS 4.53 (data from Oct. 24 onwards) using g.b. MWR, LIDAR, FTIR, and O3 sondes before Nov. 13: D altitude: 1 - 2 km < 20 km: MIPAS vmr too low >25 km: MIPAS vmr too large after Nov. 13: O3 sondes Uccle & MWR Payerne (110 comparisons !) : height assignment is reasonable much better agreement Quality of MIPAS O3 profiles is quite promising

  26. Outlook • A quantitative validation has to be perfomed • Data from MIPAS observations before Oct. 24 are needed • More than 1000 files with O3 profile data on CAL/VAL data base • Topics to be addressed: • day / night differences • latitudinal dependence • coincidence criteria: influence of different time and geolocation • other MIPAS products (species)
