Pressure Drop Results from Mixed Flow in Wood and Nylon at the 3rd SIG43 Workshop

The 3rd SIG43 Workshop held in Udine, Italy, in 2011 presented experimental results on pressure drop from wood and nylon under various flow conditions, including plug flow and mixed flow. The findings indicated that for wood, pressure losses increased in agreement with previous studies, while nylon exhibited little to no changes in pressure losses. This contrast underlines the complex behavior of non-Newtonian fluids compared to Newtonian laminar flow and offers valuable insights into the interaction of different materials in mixed flow scenarios.
