From: Rhonda GuiceSent: Friday, September 20, 2013 7:47 AMTo: Lake Cormorant HighSubject: Outside Drinks in School   Teachers,No outside drinks are allowed in school.  Students do not need to be eating and drinking in class.  We have had two students over the past week bring alcohol into school in drink bottles so for the safety of all students no drinks need to be out during class time.Thank you for your help with this matter.RG

  30. Hello Mrs. Chandler and Mr. Mahlmann, I enjoyed seeing you both last week.  I hope your week is going great.  I just wanted to give you two a heads up.   Two of our school board members would like to observe CPM classrooms in the Lake Cormorant area on Monday.  They will be visiting both the middle school and the high school.   I would like for them to see how both of you are teaching the new curriculum.  I think all of the teachers at LC do an awesome job.  I just really enjoyed how you two were great at managing, circulating, and closing.   I just want to give you a heads up so that you would not have a test planned.  They are both very supportive of the new textbook and curriculum.  Michelle and I are coming up with a schedule for Monday.  I will email you and let you know when we are coming. Thanks for all you do for our students. Chereda Daugherty High School Math Specialist Desoto County Schools

  34. CHALLENGE QUESTION!!! 49. Triangle PQRhas been dilated to create triangle P′Q′R′. Based on the figure at right, which of the following statements is true? RELEASED 2008- TEST 1 MCT2, Grade 6, 3e

  35. 6B Start here Wed 2/16 DO NOW 2/16/11 Students work in pairs to solve the following: 4. What are the coordinates of the dilation image of triangle ABC with a scale factor of 2? AA‘ (-4, -4), B‘ (2, -2), C‘ ( 0, 4) BA‘ ( 0, 4), B‘ (2, -2), C‘ (-4, -4) CA‘ (-4, -2), B‘ (3, -1), C‘ ( 0, 4) DA‘ (-2, -4), B‘ (1, -3), C‘ ( 0, 0) 34 Mastering the MCT2, Grade 6

  36. 4) Identify corresponding parts (sides & angles) of similar polygons 28. The following diagram shows the image and pre-image in a 200% dilation. Corresponding angles of similar figures are Congruent! Released 2009 MCT2, Grade 6, Test 2; 3e

  37. 4) Identify corresponding parts (sides & angles) of similar polygons 50. Lubresha performed a 50% dilation on figure KLMN as shown below. • What is the relationship between the length of K'L' and KL? • The length of K'L' is half the length of KL. • The length of K'L' is twice the length of KL. • H. The length of K'L' is the same as the length of KL. • J. The length of K'L' cannot be compared to the length of KL. Corresponding sides of similar figures are proportional! Released 2010 MCT 2 – Grade 6, Test 3, 3e

  38. 30. Look at the figure below. Which statement about the figure is not true? F. A’B’C’D’E’ is increased to ABCDE by a scale factor of 200%. G. ABCDE is a reduction of A’B’C’D’E’ by a scale factor of . H. O'B’ is twice OB, and E 'D’ is twice ED. J. AB is a reduction of A’B’ by a scale factor 50%. MCT 2 – Grade 6, Test 3, 3e Released 2010

  39. The triangles show below are similar figures. What is the length of “x”? • An 8 inch by 10 inch photo is enlarged to produce a inch by 24 by 30 inch photo. • What scale factor was used to make the enlargement? • 2 B. 3 • C. 8 D. 10 3” 16” x” 9”
