  2. What is ozone layer ? ozone is a layer in the earth’s stratosphere which acts as shield absorbing ultraviolet radiation from the sun.

  4. Ozone layer height The ozone layer is mainly found in the lower portion of the stratosphere from approximately 30 to 50 Km above earth.

  5. Why is the ozone hole dangerous ? Ozone depletion is major environmental problem because it increase the amount of ultraviolet radiation that reaches earth’s surface which increase the rate of skin cancer, genetic and immune system damage.

  6. Why is the ozone important ? Ozone is a gas in the atmosphere that protect everything living on the earth from harmful ultraviolet rays from the sun.

  7. How damaged is the ozone layer ? Chlorofluorocarbons and other halogenated ozone depleting substances are mainly responsible for man-made chemical ozone depletion.

  8. How can we protect the ozone layer ? • Avoid the consumption of gases dangerous to the ozone layer. • Minimize the use of cars. • Buy local products.
