  1. Fake Sports StoriesBy: Jas and Balmehar

  2. Fake Transfer News • In this video below Sky sports is saying FC Barcelona have bought a player for 83 million dollars but they don’t say what the players name or have any other information on the player. They just keep going on and on of how much money they have spent on this player. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2rDsMS97o8

  3. Fake stories to get athletes into trouble • In this article it is saying Kobe Bryant was yelling at his teammates for not winning the game. It also says Kobe challenged his teammates to get technical fouls for fighting with Pau Gasol. • http://www.theonion.com/articles/kobe-bryant-blasts-teammates-for-failure-to-critic,30637/

  4. How officials can get into for fake stories • In this story Mark Clattenburg the Referee was accused of using racist language to a player. Obi Mikel a player of Chelsea FC said he thought he had heard the ref call him a monkey, after investigating this incident was proven false. • http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/story/183819.html

  5. How athletes can be said to be greedy with their money • Many people think all athletes just care about their money and don’t care about the people that are less fortunate. Well that may not be the case here down below is a list of athletes who have made millions and millions of dollars for children in there own charities. http://online.wsj.com/public/resources/documents/pt-af323_athletechart.pdf

  6. In game racist incidents • This story may not be fake but I think it is an issue that should be heard. This whole incident started back in Oct 15th,2011 when Patrice Evra a defender from Manchester United said he was racially abused by Luis Suarez a forward form Liverpool. Luis Suarez was banned for eight games and was fined 40,000 pounds after being found guilty. When the 2 teams met again Luis Suarez said he would shake Patrice’s hand but he went back on his words and ignored Patrice’s hand when he offered it to Luis. Here is a video of the whole incident. • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8CfEJVL0SmY

  7. How athletes lives are portrayed • Many medias tell us that all these famous athletes have the best life ever, or they tell us about there personal lives sometimes the stories that athletes don’t want the public to know. • One story the media told the public was about Michael Jordan’s gambling addiction. I don’t think the media should have told the public this because many people look up too Jordan as role model from his professional life not his private life. • http://voxjuvenis.wordpress.com/2011/02/26/from-private-to-the-public-media-portrayal-of-athletes/

  8. Fake stories of athletes lives • A lot of fake stories are made about athletes to put them in hot water, these fake stories can be made to get athletes into trouble with the team they are playing with or to get them into trouble with their personal lives. • According to one media Mario Balotelli a player from Manchester City dressed up as Santa Claus and handed out money in Manchester this story had got him into trouble with his club, But the club later found out this story was fake. • http://worldsoccer.about.com/od/soccercultur1/tp/Mario-Balotelli-Stories.htm

  9. What types of athletes produce these fake stories • Many fake stories come from different websites and sometimes videos. • One website that has fake stories is called the onion all of the articles posted on this website are 100% fake, the sports section hasn’t been updated for about a month. • http://www.theonion.com/section/sports/

  10. Why do the media make fake stories? • Many of these media’s make these fake stories just to bring attention to there station or there website so more people will watch their station or read more articles on there website. • Sometimes that may not be the case these media’s may get the wrong information and make it sound like it’s the truth that’s why it usually ends up on the front page.

  11. Do these media’s get into trouble for making fake stories • Many of these media’s don’t get into trouble for making fake stories unless the stories are based on the personal lives of athletes. • Sometimes if the athletes find out about these fake stories they will go on there social media accounts and tell everyone how much of the story is true or false.
