  2. Going forward… • New arrangements for ERDF in the East Midlands • Local Management Committee and Deputy Chair • Disposal of RDA assets

Funding Funding allocation: • Programme size: €268.5 m £227.5m • Allocated (or in negotiation) £140.7m (61%) • Priority Axis 1: £97.8m 76% allocated • Priority Axis 2: £120.6m 53% allocated Funding available: • Total £86.8m • PA1 £23.3m • PA2 £57.2m • PA3 £6.3m PA1 call for activity for up to £19m launched 12 April (deadline 27 May) PA2 allocations now provided to local authorities

  4. New arrangements • Transfer from RDAs to CLG – 1 July 2011. • Most of team transferring.

  5. Local Management Committee • Replaces PMC • Chaired by Mark Carroll • Based on principles of: • local determination • stable and compliant delivery • Role: • project selection criteria • achievement of targets • Annual and Final Reports • evaluations • strategic linkages with other funds, and wider UK policy

  6. Chair of LMC • Strategic goals and performance targets. • Compliance with EC rules and regulations, taking account of views of LMC. • Neutrality. • Ensure membership of LMC is representative. • Guidance on Government policies. • Report back to Ministers. • Links with other funds. • Effective and efficient operation.

  7. Deputy Chair of LMC • Local engagement at senior level. • Leadership of stakeholders. • Local representation and influence. • Ensure priorities of LEPs (and others) are reflected in ERDF. • With Chair, ensure LMC is representative. • Chair Investment Sub-Groups. • Lead local discussion items. • Lead place-based activities. • Annual meeting with Chair and Minister. • Promote private and public leverage.

  8. Membership of LMC • Likely to be similar to PMC. • Based on: • Meeting local needs. • Strategic view, respected by people they represent. • Representative. • Compliant. • Efficient and effective.
