In Poland we put some hay under the tablecloth to commemorate the place where Christ was born
We prepare the holy wafer, which, later on, everybody shares
We leave an extra plate for an unexpected guest. This year I was the unexpected guest!
On Christmas Eve, Father Christmas brings presents and puts them under the Christmas tree.
We put twelve dishes on a Christmas table like: • Carp • Herring in vinegar • Herring in cream • Jacket potatoes • Mushroom soup with noodles • Ravioli with sauerktaut and • mushrooms • Sauerkraut with peas • Sauerkraut with mushrooms • Stewed fruit • Vegetable salad • Fruit salad • Kutya
