Project Overview • Introduction • Carve Your Path/ESMS is the High School, College and Career Management System that will assist our students to excel and help them prepare for successful careers. • Objectives • The “One-Stop-Shop” user interface will be a convenient place for PED, HED & DWS programs and initiatives to converge in an online environment. • Provide Eleventh Grade High School Exit Examination and other High School Redesign assessments in an educational portfolio • Meet the requirements for consolidation and goals of the state IT Strategic Plan • Meet Governor Richardson’s “Making Schools Work: Preparing New Mexico’s Future” P-20 plan • Must be accessible to all current or prospective students and residents of New Mexico. • The ability to link to external websites and/or return pre-determined student support services and/or program information to the student. • On demand training related to the tools, features, and functionality for regional and state level users and administrators. • Collaborate with the Department of Workforce Solutions. • Identify and work with other New Mexico agencies as appropriate.

Initiation Phase Accomplishments • Phase Deliverables: • Combined PED & HED scope requirements. • Coordinated needs with existing DWS systems • Created Budget and ensured funding • Meeting requirements of federal grant • Addressed issues related to ESMS allocation • Illustrated strengths of SharePoint backbone • Ease of use • Sustainability of licensure, operations & content management • Agreed high-level cross-agency budget & schedule • Scope, Budget, Governance • Completed PMP and other management plans • Initiated IV&V discussions with Fox Systems

Planning Phase Expectations • Phase Deliverables: • Define PED & HED scope requirements. • Implement agreements to access existing DWS system information • Budget and funding • Ensure requirements of federal grants & State allocations are addressed • SharePoint backbone • Ensure system meets needs of PED & HED • Ensure ease-of-use with DWS and other agency systems & data • Cross-agency agreements • Ensure budget and schedule issues are addressed • Memoranda of Understanding • PMP and other management plans • Maintain and amend management plans as required • IV&V • Contract with Fox Systems and initiate IV&V Services
