World Water Forum - Background • When: 5th World Water Forum - Istanbul, Turkey, 15 to 22 March 2009 • Hosted by: General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. • Aims: The WWF is the main water-related event in the world • putting water firmly on the international agenda re: achieving global collaboration in solving water problems • Offers the water community stakeholders at all levels and policy-and-decision-makers to network in finding solutions. • Who: The Forum is convened by the World Water Council. • The 1st WWF was held in Marrakech, Morocco in 1997, The Netherlands in 2000, Japan in 2003 and Mexico in 2006. • See website at: www.worldwaterforum.org Caribbean Environmental Health Institute The Morne, PO Box 1111, Castries, St. Lucia Tel: 758 452-2501; Fax: 758 453-2721 Email: cehi@candw.lc; Web site: www.cehi.org.lc
