Course Objectives • To introduce the Spanish Language to students new to the language • Provide students with the ability to initiate and engage in basic conversations • Develop an understanding of pronunciation and syntax as it relates to the Spanish Language • To allow students to use Spanish to identify and describe a variety of objects, events, and people • To introduce a variety of aspects of Hispanophone culture in an educational setting

Learning a language can be frustrating at times, but if you keep at it you will succeed! 3. PARTICIPA EN CLASE • Participate in class. Speak Spanish, pay attention and stay on task. 4. SÉ PREPARADO • Be prepared for each class and ready to learn.

  7. Assessment Scheme 1. Tests/Quizzes- 25% Unit Tests Periodic Small Quizzes 2. Classroom Observations/Conversation- 25% Presentations, Discussions, Debates, Oral Questioning 3. Assignments/Projects 25% Writing Tasks, Research Tasks, Culture Project 4. Final Exam (Mandatory)- 25%

  8. Spanish Write a half-page (double-spaced) piece on the following two prompts: • Why are you in this course? • What do you hope to learn in this course?
