  2. What is the EMCC? • A center for production • A collaboration • A collection of resources and competencies The right place to go for scalable, sustainable educational media solutions.

The EMCC Work • Ranges from individual drop-in consultations at the New Media Center to the creation of innovative web-based classes. • To help us in our mission, we are developing Stellar, an open architecture, standards based platform for Web based education. • Supports on-campus education, major distance learning programs such as the Singapore-MIT Alliance, and special projects with select corporate partners of MIT.

The EMCC Provides • Design and web programming support for major Institute educational initiatives • “Building Block” services in prototype, production, and operational versions; • Consultation • instructional design, graphic design, technological design • developing ideas for instructional experiments with web-based multimedia into proposals and projects. • Design, Implementation, and Production Service transition assistance for websites • Services to help users self-educate, analyze, access available projects and resources

  5. The EMCC Staff • The EMCC exists to help members of the MIT Community get educational content on the web. • Our staff members have the talents for that job, including instructional design, project management, site design, graphical design, page layout, programming, and server administration.
