  2. Geography • Corsica is located 112 miles from the France mainland • The Island is 114 miles long and 52 miles wide, and the fourth largest island in the Mediterranean Sea • The island consists of mainly mountains, but also has forests, deserts and beaches.

  3. Sports • Canyoning- Includes rappelling, rafting, and waterfall jumping • Abseiling- Descending from cliffs or walls • Cross country skiing • Hydrospeed – You use a riverboard and flippers to go down a rapid river • Windsurfing • Parachuting etc

  4. Tourism • During July and August Corsica has about 1,500,000 tourists • There are a lot of activities for a tourist to do while visiting, they can visit either the countryside or sea • Lots of old monuments and interesting buildings

Cuisine Meals • Wild Boar • Cabri de lait - kid • Bécasse - roast woodcock • Pédrix - partridge • Valetta - cheek • Fromage de tête - "head cheese" made from seasoned pigs' brains Desserts Fiadone - soft cheese tart which is soaked in spirit and flambéed Beignets - chestnut flour doughnuts, sometimes stuffed with cheese

  6. C u l t u r e • The main language in Corsica is Corsu. • Many residents speak French also but a lot of street signs are bilingual • Corsu is a optional language in school but a lot of nationalist groups want it to be mandatory
