  1. Framing Analysis of the:Death of Osama Bin Laden Camille Briggs

  2. Introduction On May 2, 2011, Saudi Elite terrorist Osama Bin Laden was declared dead after a shootout with United States Navy Team Six. Americans everywhere celebrated as United States’ President Barack Obama announced to the world that Bin Laden was deceased. The reaction of the news was broadcast all over the world and many have varying opinions whether or not the United States reaction was appropriate.

  3. American’s Reaction to Bin Laden’s Death Example of Americans rejoicing after Obama announced that terrorist Osama Bin Laden was killed.

  4. Hypothesis As result of the analysis the researcher will find that there is a definite difference between the way Bin Laden death was perceived in the United States versus the perception of Middle Eastern or followers of Bin Laden.

  9. Discussion/Limitations What I Found & Future Research Difficulties/ Limitations • As a result of my research, I found that there were many different perspectives used to report on the death of Osama Bin Laden, and each were unique to the perspective that place. • Future Research I would suggest to expand the subject matter starting with Bin Laden’s September 11 attack and ending his with the death, so that the analysis will be a full history as opposed to a small piece. I would also suggest to expand the sources used for the framing so that the researcher is not limited. One source that I feel would be very helpful to use is video. • Lit Review • I was limited in the amount of articles that I could find on my subject, so I had to change my search engine phrase to execution of terrorist. • Methods • I had to change my framing from CNN to the New York Times • Time-frames • In order to find articles that were in the same time frame I had to readjust my time-frame to a much broader one.
