Why is my Kindle Fire battery draining so fast? Some owners of Fire tablets have problems with sudden and inexplicable battery drain. There is a lot of discussion about this in the Amazon forum. Fortunately, there are several ways to fix the kindle battery drain and kindle wont charge problem.
Possible solutions: • Press and hold the power button for at least 40 seconds until it restarts and check that it works normally. • There is a good chance that one of the apps you have installed is causing the problem. Go to Settings> Apps & Games> Manage All Apps and try uninstalling apps one by one and testing if you can find the culprit. • You can also reset the device to the factory settings and selectively install apps, paying attention to changes in battery consumption. If you choose to reset to factory settings, you must first back up any valuable photos or other files as this will erase your tablet. Then go to Settings> Device Options> Reset to Factory Settings.
Workarounds: Get in the habit of turning off your tablet when you are not using it. Press and hold the power button until the power-off box appears, and then tap OK. • If you don't want to turn it off completely when you're not using it, pull down the notification shade and tap to activate airplane mode. You can also go to Settings> Power and activate the automatic smart suspension. • Another option to extend the battery life of your Fire tablet is the energy-saving mode under Settings> Power supply, but this dims the display. You can also set it to turn on automatically. • Breakdown: E-books disappear or do not work • It seems that some people lose their downloaded e-books after restarting their tablet and others don't work offline, as described here and here in the Amazon forum threads. There are several ways to fix this. • You can try searching for the Kindle app in Settings> Apps & Games> Manage All Applications. Then tap Force Stop and Clear
Cache: You can still update apps manually by opening the Play Store, tapping the three vertical lines at the top left, selecting My Apps and Games, and then selecting the Updates tab. Next to each app you want to update, tap Update. Just avoid updating Amazon or Kindle apps here. If you don't have a Google Play Store, try syncing your books and press and hold the power button for at least 40 seconds until it restarts, and see if it works normally.
