  2. Creep, Crept – to move slowly and quietly without alerting anyone. E.g. David crept out of the room when he was sure that his brother was asleep. • Inch, Inched – to move slowly and covering only a bit of space with each step. Actions: Slow Movement

  4. Saunter, Sauntered – to walk in a leisurely manner; strolling E.g. Despite being late, Jerome sauntered into the classroom. • Strut, Strutted – to walk in a vain manner with head erect and chest out, expecting to impress others. E.g. She strutted into the office decked in her Gucci clothes and Chanel accessories. • Prance, Pranced – to skip and dance around in an elated and lively manner. E.g. “I did it!” Susan screeched jubilantly, prancing around the room and clutching her N-level results slip. Action: Types of walking style

  5. Bolt, bolted - to make a sudden, swift dash, run, or escape E.g. The moment the shoplifter noticed the security guard approaching him, he bolted for the exit. • Scurry, Scurried – to move quickly in a hurried manner. E.g. As the fire alarm went off, all the shopping mall patrons scurried towards the nearest exit. Action: Moving really fast

Chris glancedat Cindy as she walked past, but lacked the courage to ask her out. • Gaze, Gazed – to look steadily and intently, as with great curiosity, interest, pleasure, or wonder. E.g. Sharon chuckled when she saw how shy Darren was as he tried to ask her out. • Grimace, Grimaced – to contort the face expressing pain or discomfort. E.g. Clutching his stomach as he grimaced in extreme pain, Daniel screeched, “Where is the nearest toilet!” • Grin, Grinned – to smile broadly, indicating extreme jubilance. E.g. Natalie grinned as she saw her photograph in the latest ‘Teens’ magazine. Action: Facial Expressions (emotions)

E.g. “I don’t care!” Kylie yelled defiantly, pouting her lips with her arms akimbo. • Scowl, Scowled - to have a gloomy or threatening look. E.g. The bully scowled when Zack refused to hand our his money. • Smirk, Smirked – to smile in an offensive and arrogant way. E.g. “You can never defeat me,” Oliver declared arrogantly, smirking at his opponent. Action: Facial Expressions (emotions)

David tried to run but the bully yanked his shirt and caused him to tumble backwards. • Clutch, Clutched – to grip tightly or firmly. E.g. Christine clutched her handbag as she made her way through the crowd. • Toss, Tossed – to throw carelessly . E.g. “I could not care less,” declared William nonchalantly, tossing his examination script into the wastepaper basket. Actions: Hand actions
