Threats: • Slows down computer • Computer breakdown • Programs stop responding • This will relate to you as you may need the internet quite often • Important files may be corrupted • Solution: • Keeping your operating system up to date (especially If you have windows os) • Using up to date anti-virus software • Run the antivirus software weekly to keep up to date • Avoiding unreliable software Virus Protection Bradley Dravie

Threats if turned off: • Easier for viruses to get in • Could be very lethal for a new computer • Firewalls stop hackers • There are some viruses that can disable firewalls • This could relate as you may not know if people are trying to hack into your computer if firewall is off. • Firewall comes with your antivirus protection (in built with windows) • Solutions Keep firewall on at all times Make sure you have good internet security Firewall Bradley Dravie

Threats: • People can do all sorts of things if you have no password e.g put viruses on your computer, delete important files from your computer etc. • Short password can be devised easily • This could relate as you are the only one working on your computer • Solutions: • Make password long • Encrypt what you are sending Password Bradley Dravie

Aaaaw man! • Threats: • PC may get taken • You may not be able to take PC (laptop) • You may not have any safe places • Robbers will look for the most expensive things. • Solutions: • Buy a bolt and lock it on • Always lock the door of the room your PC is in • Keep it out of sight • You may want protective glass/doors/windows • You could have special cupboards/safes Physical Security Bradley Dravie

Threats: • Bad websites that can give you viruses • Key loggers • Spam when using email • You may need the internet for online banking or going on facebook • Solutions: • Anti-Malware to scan for incoming files • Download from a reliable source • Always encrypt what you are sending Internet security Bradley Dravie
