  2. Sunday 24 July, Te PunaWhakareia Marae, Rotoiti. Research Team, Whanau and Rangatahi preparing to depart for Taratahi Agricultural Training Centre, Masterton on a five day live in experience of the Centre. Rangatahi had just come off the stage from performing for their Marae in the inter-hapukapahaka challenge. Left to right, Jeff Harvey, Olive Jonas, Lindsay Harvey, Henare Gardiner, ArapoWhata, NaiaWhata, Anthony , Neville King. r

  3. Day 1, orientation and first time in a milking shed for some of the Rangatahi. Experiences included snow, quite a reality check for the Rangatahi as they learnt to work in the tough winter environment.

  5. Nervous grins after seeing the accident photos in theory class All concentration as boys prepare to use saws for first time

  6. Perfect safe starting stance Plenty of one-on-one support

  7. Taking care of business henare shows his skill at the firewood heap Naia tackles his first big log

  8. Fencing class Girls leading the way in the fencing module Tutors at work

  9. Learning to tie off number 8 wire Continuous tutor support and encouragement
