  1. Introducing Wimba Pronto* Connect with Blackboard * Please note thatcurrently Pronto is in a “trial status”. To be made available within a course, the instructor must send an email to vitrc@ltu.edu

What is Wimba Pronto? • Pronto is an instant messaging (IM) and voice chat tool that allows you to communicate with your classmates, individually or in groups, anytime. • Pronto integrates with LTU’s Blackboard system; your classmates are automatically added to your user list and will automatically populate your contact list each semester with the names of every student in your classes and social organizations. • Initially, your instructor will need to request that Pronto be made available within your course Note: you must register and download Pronto from within Blackboard!

  3. How do I get Pronto? • Log into Blackboard and log into your course • Select Communication from the left-hand side of the screen • Select the Pronto icon

  4. Getting Started • Click on “Go To Pronto” • Follow the steps to create your Pronto account

  5. An email message will be sent to your email address Check the email receipt as soon as possible (the email is time-sensitive) to complete activation and download Click on the link to download the Pronto Client Confirm

  6. The next screen will confirm your account settings (you can always change later) Click “Download Pronto” Select “Run” Download / Install

  7. Pronto Setup Wizard • The Setup Wizard will guide you through the setup process • Agree to Terms & Conditions • Accept defaults • Finish up!

  8. All Done! • Log into Pronto! • Change / review your preferences • Select Pronto, Preferences • Optionally • Check “remember me” and/or • “sign in automatically” when you log onto your computer • Select “sign in”

  9. Enjoy! • Pronto will populate your “classmates” for each of your desired courses • Chat with your classmates / instructor • Use group options • Use voice chat • Enjoy!

  10. Questions / Answers • If I am enrolled at multiple institutions, can I use Pronto? • Yes, provided that each institution has licensed Pronto, Pronto will automatically populate your Classmates tab with all your courses and from all your institutions. • What happens to my account after I leave Lawrence Technological University? • You have access to your Pronto account indefinitely. Simply log in with your existing sign-in name and password; or, you can use Pronto for communication with the existing people in your contacts list without a populated classmates tab. • Do I have to be in Blackboard to use? • Once Pronto is installed and set up you do not have to be in Blackboard to IM your classmates
