  2. ANSWER! No, the coldest water does not always have the highest concentration of oxygen. The temperature of the lake dropped as the depth increased. Jason Au and Lisa Li
  3. LAKE QUESTION! 8. Explain what other factors besides water temperature may affect the concentration in the various layers of the lake. Jason Au and Lisa Li
  4. ANSWER! Sunlight only reaches a certain depth within the lake. 4.5 meters was the depth that sunlight could travel through the water and allow photosynthesis to occur. This creates a huge amount of oxygen in that area. The bottom of the lake has the lowest temperature. However the sunlight can not penetrate to the bottom of the lake which prevents photosynthesis at the bottom of the lake, which results in a low oxygen concentration. In the spring and fall, the cold water from the surface sinks, bringing oxygen to the bottom of the lake. This spreads the oxygen across the lake. Jason Au and Lisa Li
