  2. “It seemed like he was not very enthusiastic about it, so while he read out loud I had him look for words that had double letters or words that he was not familiar with. After that he seemed to pay more attention to what he was reading.” “he enjoyed figuring the clues out, but when I asked him to write his own he had some troubles. We then moved on to a word sort. We sorted words with the ending os -s and -es. He seemed to breeze through” “he would spell "profitted and resultting" instead of Profited and resulting. So then I did a little activity where I would write a group of words that had similar endings and I would ask him to circle the words that had a double letter” “I could tell that he was getting frustrated at the beginning, but after some encouragement he figured out the trick. I asked him to make up his own FanneeDoolee Riddles. Then I narrowed it down to verbs that had a double letter. He came up with FanneeDoolee likes swimming freestyle, but not backstroke” Observation
