They play a crucial role in airport ground operations, ensuring aircraft receive the correct type and amount of fuel efficiently and safely. • Types of Aircraft Fuel Trucks: • Fuel Tanker Trucks: • Large fuel trucks that transport aviation fuel from storage facilities to aircraft. • Equipped with high-capacity fuel tanks (ranging from 5,000 to 15,000 gallons). • Used mainly at large airports for refueling commercial jets. • Hydrant Dispensers: • Smaller vehicles that connect to an underground hydrant system at airports. • Do not carry fuel but pump it from airport fuel farms through a hydrant system. • Common at major airports with centralized fuel infrastructure.
