  3. Lesson 1: Discussing Housing Situations • Things to think about • Environment • Size of house • Features in home • Have you lived different places? Describe. • What didn’t you like?

  4. “Looking for a House” • DVD questions • What 3 criteria did Ken & his wife agree on when searching for a house? • What advice did Ken give him? Why? • Why did they decided against buying a 2-story, 4 bedroom house they saw and liked? • What did they finally decide on? • How did he feel about his new home?

  5. Activity • In groups 2-3, design your dream home • Think about size, location, # of rooms, library, office, pool, spa, walk in closet, etc. • Be prepared to present to the class

  6. Lesson 2: Discussing Cars • Grab your workbooks! P. 140 (clip #2 – 3, 6, 12)

  9. Role Play • In groups of 2, gloss a script for the following and be prepared to present in class • Parent • Your child is shopping for a new car. You had agreed to co-sign her loan application. You prefer she buy an American-made car. • Child • You are shopping for a new car. You think Japanese cars are gas savers, well made, and attractive looking. Your parent had agreed to co-sign your loan application. You are ready to put a down payment of $4,000 on a car.
