  3. NO!!!!! What if his “cure” is really dangerous but he promises that his experiments showed that it works? Dr. Factoria has found the cure for Cancer!! What if Dr. Factoria can’t explain how he did his experiment?   4. SO Why do we use the Scientific Method???? To be able to repeat an experiment over and over again -makes sure results are correct -helps check for mistakes -protects people from “bad” science http://solitaryking.com/images/question_clipart.gif

  8. Make a Hypothesis NOT an educated GUESS!!! It is a possible explanation that can be tested Always written in an “IF” “THEN” statement IF James slaps Jennie THEN he will break his hand. If leaf color change is related to temperature , then exposing plants to low temperatures will result in changes in leaf color NO If I play the lottery, then I will get rich Chocolate may cause pimples. NO

  18. Amanda thinks that if plants are exposed to classical music then they will grow faster. She puts one plant in her bedroom with the usual noises and the other plant she puts in her brother’s room which is exactly like hers except that there is classical music all day long. Control group? IV? DV? Fred believes that if Cows are given Pepsi to drink instead of water they will make more milk. The cow given Pepsi dies. BUT so does the cow that is given water! Is it the Pepsi's fault the cow died?
