We Day Update • You should have received an email yesterday and you will get a permission slip in first hour Thursday if you have been offered a ticket. • There were more applications that tickets, so some students are on a waiting list. • Permission slips are due by October 31st– if they aren’t turned in by then your spot will be offered to someone on the wait list • Let Mrs. Phillips know if you can’t attend so someone else can be asked

Jefferson Awards Foundation Fall Leadership Conference – Saturday, November 1st • Permission Slips are due by this Friday! • You also need to do the on-line registration – information in the packet. If you are interested and didn’t get a packet, talk to Mrs. Phillips – anyone in We Act Club can attend with signed permission slips! And it’s free!

  4. Global Project Update - FMSC • Great job on October 15th. Pictures posted on website • 35 students and 4 parents volunteered, many taking two shifts • 54 shifts cover by BHS, totaling 108 hours • 356 boxes were packed • 76,896 meals were packaged • 210 children will be fed for a year! • Next Date is Thursday, November 13 - 8:00-9:30pm • We need 18+ volunteers – can your parents stay to help? Sign up on the website under 18+ and indicate “parent” in the comments.

  5. Local project - We Scare Hunger • Half sheet flyer -- orange paper didn’t arrive yesterday so they are not yet printed. Stop by Thursday or Friday for a supply – they will be outside Mrs. Phillips’ office. Or get them at next week’s meeting if you don’t plan to drop off at homes before then. • Planning Committee decided that We Act Members should have 20 houses that they collect from as a goal. Each person would then have a minimum of 20 items – Hopefully more if homes donates multiple items or if you go to more than 20 homes! If all 60 of you do it, we’d have 1200 items… most likely more! • Have your parents sign your volunteer hours form. Also attach a slip telling how many houses you went to and total items collected. Take a picture of yourself and the collected food and send it to Mrs. Phillips! • You can drop the flyer off ahead of time so they can have something ready for you. Then, pick up on Halloween (or a different time if you choose – just let them know if it won’t be Halloween night). Or you can just tell them about it when you are at the door on Halloween night and see if they have something on-hand to donate that is on the list! *Role Play two situations • Invite your friends to join your or to do it in their neighborhood! Tweet about it and spread the word! Anyone can do it and pick up the flyers outside Mrs. Phillips’ office. • Bring in food the week after Halloween!
