Grade 10 English Social Studies Mathematics Science PE or Dance Fitness Electives from Fine Arts or Applied Skills Grade 11 English Social Studies Mathematics Science Planning / ADC Electives aimed towards Focus Area and/or Post Secondary Entrance Requirements Grade 12 English At least 3 additional Grade 12 Courses Grad Transitions 12 Electives aimed towards Focus Area and/or Post Secondary Entrance Requirements Graduation Requirements • While the provincial requirements are 80 credits to graduate, KSS recommends Grade 12s to carry a minimum of 88 credits

  5. Grad Transitions 12 Students must complete and document: • 30 hours of work and/or volunteer work • 150 minutes per week of moderate to vigorous physical activity representing a healthy, active lifestyle • District MAP preparation and presentation • http://www.kss.sd23.bc.ca

  6. Graduation vs Post-Secondary Requirements • Post-Secondary Institute entrance requirements are different from Graduation requirements • Each program has its own entrance requirements • Students must check carefully for the requirements of their chosen programs

For Example: Bachelor of Science (General) Requirements • UBC – Vancouver • 4 approved Grade 12 academic courses • English 12 • Pre-Cal 12 • Two other approved grade 12 academic courses: including at least one of Biology 12, Chemistry 12, Geology 12, or Physics 12 • Plus • English 11 • A second language 11 • Pre-Cal 11 • Chemistry 11 • Physics 11 • Social Studies 11 • which are NOT used to calculate entrance average • University of Alberta • 5 approved Grade 12 academic courses • English 12 • Pre-Cal 12 • Two from • Biology 12, • Chemistry 12, • Calculus 12, • Physics 12 • One from • one from approved courses listed in U of A calendar • UBC – Okanagan • 4 approved Grade 12 academic courses • English 12 • Pre-Cal 12 • Two other approved grade 12 academic courses: including at least one of Biology 12, Chemistry 12, Geography, Geology 12, or Physics 12 • Plus Chemistry 11 - which is NOT used to calculate entrance average

  9. Financial Support Post-Secondary Funding Any financial opportunities that come through KSS willbe advertised onthe school website, and the grade 12 information board outside the counseling office. Students should also be checking other sources for financial assistance.
