Comprehensive Planning Updates Curriculum Directors March 22, 2012
District Level Planning • AllPilot Phase I Districts will submit their District Level Plans no later than November 30, 2012. (Erie City, Fairview, North East, Northwestern, PENNCREST, and Warren) • Pilot Phase I Districts identified as in Warning, Improvement I & II, Correction I & II or Making Progress are no longer expected to submit the Needs Assessment and Action Planning components of their District Level Plans by June 30, 2012 • The entire plan will be submitted on November 30, 2012
District Level Planning • Phase 2, 3, and former Phase 3 Districts identified as in Warning are no longer requiredto submit the Needs Assessment and Action Planning components of their District Level by June 30, 2012. • Ifidentified in September 2012 as District Improvement, then they will be required to submit Needs Assessment and Action Planning on November 30, 2012
District Level Planning • Phase II trainings for July 19, 2012, are being rescheduled. We will send out an e-mail as soon as we learn more. (affects Crawford Central, Fort LeBoeuf, Harbor Creek, Iroquois, and Millcreek)
District Level Planning • Updates to the District Level Planning Guide include: • Additional characteristics for existing systems • Three additional systems • These enhancements better organize and align Comprehensive Planning with the areas of the pending Report Card System, the content of SAS, and the Core Foundations
District Level Planning • The offline work completed thus far by Pilot Phase 1 Districts is not affected • The online tool will accommodate these changes for the Phase 1 Pilot Districts
CP Online Tool • The CP Tool is now scheduled to go live by June 30, 2012 (affects everyone submitting a school or district level plan) • CP Tool Training has been rescheduled for the month of July • As soon as we confirm the locations and dates we will send you an update
School Level Planning For this year only… • Schools identified in September as in School Improvement I & II, Corrective Action I & II or Making Progress are required to submit their plans by August 30, 2012. (affects all SLPs except those schools that are in Warning) • Next year’s submission of SLPs will return to the June 30, 2013 deadline
School Level Planning • All required School Level Plans will be checked for completion, but only Title I School Level Plans will be reviewed for quality by the Statewide Review (affects Burton, Irving, Lincoln, Perry, Pfeiffer-Burleigh, Roosevelt MS, Wayne, Perseus House CS)
School Level Planning • Schools identified as in Warning (September 2011) are no longer required to submit a School Level Plan. • It is highly encouragedfor Warning schools to develop School Level plans for two reasons: • School Level Planning provides a guided opportunity for schools to examine their systems to determine those areas that need attention • A School Level Plan would be ready for implementation should such a plan be required for the following year (2012-13). • If the school moves into School Improvement, a plan will be required by November 30, 2012
