Recruitment Workgroup Task 1 Recruit Certified Tier 3 and 4 Suppliers Action 1 – Conduct Industry Visits to Identify Supply Chain Holes • Group Effort: NC Commerce Personnel & Partner Organizations (PTAC, SBTDCs, NC IES, Local EDAs) • Identify Supply Chain Holes: Conduct meetings with at least 100 in-state suppliers per year to identify holes in current supply chain (i.e., those industry requirements being filled out-of-state or not at all) • Recruit the “Holes”: Start dialogue with the out-of-state suppliers to encourage a NC-based branch or a move to NC

  2. Recruitment Workgroup Task 2 Recruit Innovative Aerospace Companies Action 1 – Identify Companies Awarded SBIR/STTR Grants Over Past Five Years Action 2 – Identify Companies Awarded DARPA, ONR, AFRL, ARL Grants Over Past Five Years

Recruitment Workgroup Task 3 Actively Participate in Aerospace & Advanced Manufacturing Trade Shows Action 1 – Representation at Major National & International Networking Events for NC Brand Awareness • Paris, Farnborough, National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), AUSA (Army), AUVSI (unmanned vehicles), etc. • Features Prime and Tier 1 Suppliers Action 2 – Representation at Significant Regional and Sub-Major Networking Events • MRO Americas, Quad-A (Army), American Helicopter Society, SOF/IC, other Special Ops forums, SBIR Conference, AeroMfg, etc. • Features Tier 2 thru Tier 4 Suppliers in addition to Tier 1 and Primes

Recruitment Workgroup Task 4 Review EDA-NC Commerce Interaction and Effects on Recruiting Practices Action 1 – Define Areas of Responsibility – Initial State Contact • NC Commerce Recruiters – Initial Contact with Prime or Tier 1 Recruits • Regional EDAs – Initial Contact with Tier 2 or Tier 3 Recruits • Local EDAs – Initial Contact with Tier 2 thru Tier 4 Recruits Action 2 – Define Areas of Responsibility – Follow-Up with NC Suppliers • NC Commerce Recruiters – Annual Meeting with Primes / Tier 1s • Regional EDAs & Local EDAs - Coordinate to ensure one meeting every year with current Tier 2-4 suppliers in region to ascertain and follow-up on supply chain holes
