Electron ID in reconstructed ZH events at 250 GeV

The objective of this project is to enhance the identification of electrons post-reconstruction. The ReconstructedParticles will be rewritten with improved lepton ID, starting with Tim's electron ID and Tae Jeong's muon ID. The existing electron ID will be examined first. The procedure involves analyzing tracks and ReconstructedParticles, using the MCParticle type for tracks with >5 hits from the same MCParticle. The recon type will be compared to the track type for efficiency/purity. Tracks unused in the reconstructed particles will be defined as missed. The cuts include Pt > 0.2 GeV and |cosTheta| < -0.95 to ensure electron tracking efficiency.

  2. Objective • Improve electron ID post reconstruction. • Rewrite ReconstructedParticles with improved lepton ID. Use Tim’s electron ID and Tae Jeong’s muon ID as starting point. • First look at existing electron ID.

  3. Procedure • Look at Tracks: if > .5 of the hits are from same MCParticle, use it with type from the MCParticle. • Look at ReconstructedParticles: use recon type compared to track type for eff/pur. • Also look for tracks unused in the reconstructed particles. Define these as missed. • Cut == Pt > 0.2 GeV, |cosTheta| < -.95
