Obj: Explain the conditions of the slaves during the Middle Passage/Triangular Trade from two points of view

Closing: Create a Poem illustrating the conditions

      • What product did Africa want from the colonists?
      • What product did New England colonists want from the West Indies?
      • Describe a triangular trade route that does not include the trading of the humans.

Explain the reason for the development of the Transatlantic (Triangle) Trade and the conditions of the slaves during the Middle Passage

  • Triangular Trade/Middle Passage Activity
    • Read the story and take notes on page 15 -Write title of article
      • The persons P.O.V. (his belief about slave trade)
      • I know this because (list reasons why, write down text-based evidence) Think about slavery, conditions of the ship, and treatment of Africans
    • Title page 16,POV Comparisons
    • Compare & Contrast POV of the Middle Passage Docs using a Venn Diagram, include quotes from the passage
    • Title page 17, Poem – Title of the Poem
    • Create a “I AM” poem or any type poem of your choice about the conditions of the slaves during the middle passage. Your poem can be from the POV of the slave or slave trader Think about slavery, how they were captured, conditions of the ship, and treatment of Africans
