  3. ACT Bell Ringer • You will need your clickers to complete the ACT bell ringer.

  4. Flashback • Turn to a partner and discuss: • 1. “who are the 7 boys” • 2. why are the boys worthy of rumors • Evaluate the effectiveness of the following quote: • “ Our innocence had been replaced by fear and we had become monsters”

  5. Chapter 9 • In chapter 9, Beah uses imagery to create mental pictures in the readers mind. • Create a 5 column chart with the 5 senses as headings. (sight, smell, taste, touch, hear) • Every time you come across imagery that would appeal to any of the 5 senses, reference the page number you found the imagery. • Finish reading from page 65-68 on your own.

  6. Exit Slip • Evaluate the following quote: • “When I am alone in my room sometimes I stare at the wall and in the back of my mind I hear my conscience call” • Include your thoughts about the meaning and significance of the quote. • This evaluation should be at least a paragraph in length.
