Funding Sources for Contraceptives in Tanzania: An Overview

This document outlines the funding structure for contraceptives in Tanzania as of May 2010. It highlights that the public sector accounted for 82% of total contraceptive costs, primarily supported by the Government of Tanzania (GOT), Basket Funds, Global Fund (GF), and USAID. NGOs and faith-based organizations mainly supply contraceptives through the public sector. A small portion (18%) comes from social marketing initiatives like T-MARC and PSI, while private market contributions are negligible. The report also discusses the effectiveness of the method mix and various funding sources.
